Best health centres in Västra Götaland 2026

The top-ranked health centres in Västra Götaland by the Vårdbetyg, a combined score from the National Patient Survey 2025 and waiting times. The method is open and adjusted for the number of responses, and raw averages are never ranked. See also Sweden's best health centres.

In Västra Götaland, Fridkullens vårdcentral och BVC has the highest Vårdbetyg for 2026: 91.9 out of 100. The rated health centres average 82.7 out of 100, above the national reference of 81.2.

The awards in the list are earned only through results in the open data and cannot be bought. They were decided in August 2026 and stand. The Vårdbetyg is recalculated every month with new waiting-time figures, so the order of the list can differ from the awards.

Taken together, patients' answers in Västra Götaland are below the national average, even with the margin of error counted in. The average of 210 rated health centres, with the margin of error counted in. It says nothing about any single health centre. How to read the margin of error.

Do the health centres meet the care guarantee?

In August 2026, 184 of 208 health centres in Västra Götaland gave at least 90 in 100 patients a medical assessment within three days. 4 more health centres have no figures for August 2026.

The care guarantee says everyone should get a medical assessment within three days. 90 in 100 is our benchmark for a month, not the legal limit. The figures are preliminary, and regions changing patient record systems may lack figures for a while.

What does the region spend on primary care?

The amounts are not adjusted for rising wages and prices since 2015, so the increase does not show how much more care there is.

The amount shows how much money goes to primary care, not how good the care is, and it does not affect the ratings. Patient fees and the region's other income are already deducted. Prescription medicines and home health care are not included, so that the regions can be compared.
