Stockholm has the most health centres (248), followed by Västra Götaland (212). Gotland has the fewest with 6.

- Can I switch health centres?
Yes, and it is free. Swedish law allows at most two switches in a twelve-month period, and a region may allow more where there are special reasons. The actual switch is done via 1177 or directly at the centre.
- Can I choose a health centre in another region?
Yes. You may register with a health centre in a region other than the one you live in, for example near work or where you study. You switch the same way, in 1177's registration service. The care guarantee follows the region where you are registered as a resident, so check on 1177 what applies to you.
